Amazing portions here and fast service! It all tasted so amazing and truly reminds me of homemade Filipino food. The chicken tinola had a good mix of chicken and vegetables with the amazing gingery and garlicky broth. Pancit Bihon was a huge plate and was very flavorful! Had a good amount of chicken pieces (also includes shrimp but opted out due to allergies) and veggies! Lechon Kawali is my partners favorite and for good reason! It is perfectly crunchy and comes with the classic Mang Tomas sauce on the side. A good mix of fatty and meaty pieces.

Having grown up in the Bay Area, especially around South San Francisco and Daly City, the Filipino influence is strong so one can expect that the cuisine is a reflection of that culture. It has taken many years for me to go here but Karilagan does not disappoint. The interior is simple, elements of the Philippines adorn the walls and we also lucked out to miss the lunch crowd and were seated right away a bit after 1pm. When you look at the menu, it's extensive. If you love Filipino food, the variety makes you feel like you're at a relatives' party and they've put out 20 dishes with all the sides and you have to figure out what to eat because it looks so good. From silog options available all day to soups (bulalo was amazing), appetizers (calamari comes with vinegar and onion sauce for the side), meat dishes (get the binagoongan, delicious) and seafood/veggies (the Bicol express was my favorite!), there is something to satisfy everyone's palette! And the portions are huge! We came with a party of 5 total and ordered 5 dishes and went home with leftovers enough for another meal for 3 more people. For 5 people it was really good, $120 total so $24/person. Street parking was pretty easy for us to find.

We came here for lunch on a Sunday. There were 10 of us and reservation was made ahead of time. Environment very casual. Food was served right away. Staff was very attentive to us. The Kare Kare was the best.

April 2023 Dine-in: 3.5 stars rounded up Huge portions, I took home 2 dishes and had leftovers for days. I was really excited about the crispy binagoongan but unfortunately none of it was crispy. The flavor was there but not the texture, which is a big miss considering the dish is called "crispy". Their bangus sinigang was good, nice and sour. Love that they give a good portion of spiced bagoong for the kare kare. My parents love their pancit miki bihon. I guess I'm just not a big pancit fan. Their halo halo was traditional and hits the spot if that's what you're craving. We shared 1 between 4 people and it was enough. April 2024 Party Trays My dad requested Karilagan for his birthday. The pricing was higher than what was advertised on their website and didn't find out until it was time to pay. Looking at the menu now and the pricing hasn't been updated since 12/13/21. We ordered the following full sized trays: - 1 Pork sisig - 1 Pancit miki bihon - 2 Lumpiang shanghai - 1 Pinakbet - 1 Crispy binagoongan The total came out to $846.04. The food came out as expected for catered Filipino food. Don't expect anything crispy once it's time to eat. They try to keep it crispy by separating the sauces, which I appreciate, but it is what it is. We ended up throwing the lumpia in the oven in batches to re-crisp them and that worked. I'm assuming the crowd favorite was the pork sisig since I didn't get any leftovers of that. Parking was tough on Saturday at 12:30pm. I was by myself and was forced to double park in order to pick up and load the car quickly without any help. So, if you plan to pick up lots of food, bring someone with you and don't expect help from the staff.
